PARAGLIDE KILIMANJARO 2025
What a season 2025 turned out to be!
We flew, we climbed, we laughed—and we pushed some serious boundaries on Kilimanjaro. Two of the only five pilots ever to fly from Mt. Everest, Li Shengtao and Pierre Carter, were with the ParaglideKilimanjaro.com expedition team. This season, Li Shengtao and Yuan Linchao became the first Chinese pilots to launch from Kilimanjaro, while Bill Brooks (Australia) set a new milestone as the oldest pilot to fly from Kili at age 70.
Yok Chaitwan from Thailand took to the air on a tandem flight with Pierre Carter. After years of piloting only tandem flights from Kilimanjaro (2011, 2017, 2018, 2021 & 2025), Pierre Carter finally took to the air solo – launching on his Nova glider for his first-ever solo paraglide from Kilimanjaro.
Also sharing the skies with us were pilots Jean Marc Aringoli (France), Patrick Chapaveire (France), Vincent di Rocco (France), Dorota Halama (Poland), Christian Deutner (Germany), and Dmitrijs Kalnins Bergs (Latvia).
& EWe were joined as well by Kenyan pilot Shaun Mousley, Australia’s adventure power couple Luke & Elise Richmond (both published authors), and doctor Sally Edmonds. And in true mountaineer spirit, Xinyu Cheng from China nearly summited in Crocs—a first we won’t forget!
