Adventure has no age limit: just ask bill!

Meet Bill Brooks — a 70-year-young Aussie with a heart full of courage and a backpack full of jokes (and maybe a magic trick or two). While some slow down with age, Bill has only hit the throttle. From carving snow in the Alps with his skiis to diving beneath coral reefs, his true love? Soaring through the sky with a paraglider and a cheeky grin on his face.
He decided that flying from Mt Kilimanjaro was something he needed to tick off his list of things to do before he gets too old. With his trusty adventure partner, the remarkable Dr. Sally Edmonds (a real-life superhero in adventure medical assistance and epic journeys of her own – she loves horses and doing fun adventures with Bill), Bill joined our Paraglide Kilimanjaro expedition. Together, they climbed the legendary mountain with our team — Sally trekking every step and Bill dreaming of flight. When the altitude hit, Bill didn’t miss a beat. Between cracking daily jokes and dazzling us with evening magic tricks before every dinner, he was a highlight of the trip long before his feet left the ground.
Bill managed to fly from close to the summit to the base camp on summit day and then the next day he took flight again and flew all the way down from Kilimanjaro to avoid a long hike. Bill reminds us all: adventure isn’t about age — it’s about attitude. Whether you’re 20 or 70, the world is full of summits to climb, skies to fly, and stories waiting to be told.
A huge congratulations to the entire team for a great expedition with ParaglideKilimanjaro.com.

The expedition team, still fresh and full of energy at the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, ready to take on another epic day. One common goal unites them—to paraglide off the summit!
Friends on an adventure together – Luke and Alexis after their first night on Mt Kilimanjaro.
Luke soaking in the breathtaking views of Mawenzi Tarn and its serene little alpine lake up high! While most eyes are on Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro, its lesser-known sibling, Mawenzi Peak, is an awe-inspiring spectacle of its own. Rising to 5,149 meters (16,893 feet), Mawenzi is the third-highest peak in Africa and is known for its jagged, dramatic ridges that contrast sharply with Kilimanjaro’s smoother summit.
A special birthday cake on Kilimanjaro to celebrate Alexis’ birthday—now that’s a celebration at the highest level! In Swahili culture, birthday celebrations are usually modest and family-oriented, focusing on joy and togetherness rather than extravagance. But on Kilimanjaro, the spirit of adventure called for something extra special—a heartfelt happy birthday song echoed through the camp, filling the high-altitude air with cheers for Alexis!
Summit glory! A few minutes later, all of the ParaglideKilimanjaro.com expedition team members soared into the sky, gliding off the roof of Africa. Another epic day of adventuring!
