Day 1, 20 Aug 2026
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be met and transferred to Arusha.
Arriving in Arusha feels like stepping into the heart of adventure. Nestled beneath the majestic Mount Meru, this lively Tanzanian town buzzes with colorful markets, friendly smiles, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee. As a visitor you can explore the markets, dine at a local restaurant, chat with local artisans, and soak in the excitement of a place that serves as the gateway to iconic destinations like Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Accommodation at the Outpost Lodge (or similar) in a standard room on a bed and breakfast basis for 1 night.
Day 2, 21 Aug 2026
Early morning pick up in Moshi for the start of your safari. Following a quick stop in Arusha town to allow time at the shops we head to Tarangire National Park for a picnic lunch and game viewing.
The Tarangire National Park is a place where elephants dot the plains, and where lion roars and zebra barks fill the night. Dominating the park’s 2850 sq km, Tarangire’s great stands of epic baobabs should be reason enough to visit. There are also sun-blistered termite mounds in abundance, as well as vast swamps and grassy savannah plains.
Accommodation at Roika Tarangire Safari Lodge (or similar) in a standard room on a full board basis for 1 night.
Day 3, 22 Aug 2026
Depart after breakfast for a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. This compact park is remarkably diverse wildlife reserve nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment in northern Tanzania. Despite its relatively small size, the park is famous for its striking scenery, which ranges from groundwater forests and open grasslands to the alkaline Lake Manyara itself, often shimmering pink with thousands of flamingos. One of its most distinctive features is its population of tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior not commonly seen elsewhere. The park is also home to large herds of elephants, abundant birdlife, and hippos that gather in its shallow waters, making it a rich and varied ecosystem packed into a scenic landscape.
En-route you have the opportunity to visit a Maasai Village and/or local arts shop and local markets (optional at additional charge for Maasai Village or entrance fees for some art galleries for own expense).

Day 4, 23 Aug 2026
After breafast head to the fascinating Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, a World Heritage Site and the world’s largest inactive, intact volcanic caldera.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is in northern Tanzania. It’s home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and “big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978 and is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. It measures about 16-19km in diameter, with walls of 400-610m in height, forming a natural reserve which is home to some of the densest large mammal populations found anywhere in Africa.
Enjoy a game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch. Return to Arusha in the afternoon (approx 2-3 hours by road). Time permitting stop for curio shopping and a picnic lunch en-route. Your safari comes to an end in Arusha and you say farewell to your safari guide.

Day 5, 24 Aug 2026
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and a relaxed morning in Arusha.
You will be transferred to Moshi (approx 1-2 hours by road).
Once in Moshi you will meet up with your Kilimanjaro Hike & Fly Expedition members.
Accommodation at Keys Hotel in a standard room on a bed and breakfast basis this evening.
