Perched on a rocky outcrop 20 meters above sea level, Shooting Star Lodge lies just north of Kiwengwa village on Zanzibar’s tranquil northeast coast. This boutique, family-run retreat is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and offers sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and the powdery white sands of Kiwengwa Beach below.

With just 14 rooms spread out from the main lodge, the atmosphere remains peaceful and uncrowded. Built in traditional Zanzibari style, the accommodations feature white limewashed walls, lofty beamed ceilings, and large windows that capture the sea breeze and stunning views. The lodge’s makuti-thatched buildings are nestled in bird-filled gardens, and guests can relax in the cliff-top infinity pool or take a stroll along the palm-lined beach.
