Why did James want to hike & fly Kilimanjaro?

“What inspired me to take up paragliding? I have always loved the idea of free flight: no engine, no heavy gear. Easy to travel with and walk up mountains with your own aircraft.”

James Braid has been the support crew for former Red Bull X-Alps athlete, Pierre Carter in 2009, 2011 & 2013. He is well known in the South African paragliding community since the 90's and is the dealer in SA for Gradient. He also joined the 2011 Paraglide Kilimanjaro expedition (due to some 'Pierre Pressure') with his sister Samantha Braid.
